How To Post A Listing

Posting a listing on TradeShout is quick and straightforward. Follow these steps to get your item, service, or job in front of New Zealand’s trades community.

Step 1 — Create or log in to your account

You’ll need a TradeShout account to post a listing. If you haven’t registered yet, click Sign up in the top navigation and complete the quick registration form. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Step 2 — Choose your listing type

TradeShout has three types of listings:

• For sale — Selling tools, equipment, materials, or other trade-related items.
• Services — Advertising your trade skills and services to potential customers.
• Employment — Posting a job vacancy or looking for work opportunities.

Step 3 — Fill in your listing details

Give your listing a clear, descriptive title. Add a detailed description — the more information you provide, the more enquiries you’ll get. Include your location, condition of the item, and any other relevant details.

Step 4 — Add photos

Listings with photos get significantly more attention. Add clear, well-lit photos that accurately represent what you’re selling or advertising. You can add multiple photos to give buyers a complete picture.

Step 5 — Set your price

Enter your asking price. If the price is negotiable, mention it in your description. For services and employment listings, include your rate or salary range where possible — this saves time for everyone.

Step 6 — Publish your listing

Review your listing details and click Publish. Your listing will be live on TradeShout within minutes and visible to New Zealand’s trades community straight away.

Tips for a great listing

• Use a clear, specific title — “Makita 18V drill set, barely used” beats “drill for sale”
• Be honest about condition — it builds trust and saves time
• Include your general location so buyers know if pick-up is realistic
• Respond to enquiries quickly — buyers move on fast
